Early this morning, a significant power outage occurred, causing disruptions to Vodafone services. The Essential Power Systems at Vodafone Core sites in Avarua and Aroa entered Protection Mode, affecting Mobile, Internet, and Telephone services. Vodafone Technical teams promptly began restoring services at 4:15 a.m., with Mobile and Telephone service initially restored, and Internet and Mobile Data services returning three hours later. Fortunately, the mains Power outage did not damage any of the Key Vodafone Systems, and the network is back to normal.
It's worth noting that Moana TV subscribers will notice that the service is currently unavailable. Vodafone is in the process of launching a new MoanaTV platform, which will now be expedited. Existing customers who haven't been contacted yet can call 123 to arrange for the new Set-top box installation. The new MoanaTV service offers additional channels and a new Mobile app, allowing subscribers to view MoanaTV while on the move.
