What is E-Moni?

 

Vodafone’s E-Moni is here to assist you by providing the convenience of money transfers between Vodafone mobile numbers (nationwide). It also provides financial services for people who have mobile phones, but do not have bank accounts, or only have limited access to banking services. The E-Moni Mobile App provides a safe, secure and affordable way to Send and Receive money, Recharge registered Prepay numbers and make payments on your Vodafone Postpay billing accounts.

Customers must register for the service at any of our Vodafone Outlets and then deposit cash in exchange for E-Moni. Customers can then send money to their family or friends throughout the country.

Once they have registered, all transactions are completed securely by entering a 4 digit PIN number. Both parties will receive an SMS confirming the amount that has been transferred.

The recipient will receives E-Moni in real-time and then redeems it for cash by visiting their nearest Vodafone E-Moni Agent. 

How it works

How to Register for E-Moni

Visit any of our Vodafone Outlets to register. Bring at least one of the following ID: Passport, Drivers License or Birth Certificate and ensure these are valid during time of registration.

Once registration is completed

download and install the E-Moni App

via QR code onto your mobile device.

 

Enter your mobile number 682***** to begin activation process. Enter your 4-digit activation code and reset your 4 digit PIN.

Your account has been activated.

Enter your OTP passcode sent via SMS to start using E-Moni Services. 

Don't forget to top up your E-Moni value if you wish to continue using this service.

How to Top Up E-Moni value

  • To top up E-Moni, visit a Vodafone Outlet

  • Request E-Moni top-up

  • Provide your phone number to the agent

  • Make a cash deposit amount to top-up E-Moni into your account

  • You will receive a notification confirming your transaction (Note: There is no fee when doing a deposit)

  • To proceed with any of the following E-Moni services, please ensure you have sufficient E-Moni balance to cover for the transaction and any applicable fees.  

  • To view all your transactions in the app, toggle to the Transaction Log at the bottom right of the screen in your customer app.

Buy Recharge

  • To recharge a E-Moni registered prepay number, select Recharge in the E-Moni app

  • Enter the $ amount you would like to recharge

  • Enter the mobile number you wish to recharge starting with 682*****

  • Enter your 4 digit pin to confirm payment

  • You will receive a notification confirming your recharge transaction. The receiving number will also receive a notification.

How to Send Money

  • To send money to another E-Moni registered mobile number, select Send Money in the E-Moni app

  • Enter the $ amount you would like to send

  • Enter the mobile number you wish to send the money to starting with 682*****

  • Enter your 4 digit pin to confirm payment

  • You will receive a notification confirming your successful transaction. The receiving number will also receive a notification.

Note: A Vodafone number does not have to be registered to receive money. However, if you would like to send money, you will need to register to E-Moni.

How to Withdraw Money

Unregistered Customers

  • You will receive notification confirming you have received X amount of $

  • Visit your nearest Vodafone E-Moni Outlet and present your confirmation text along with a valid ID

  • Confirm amount you would like to withdraw

  • Enter your 4 digit pin to confirm 

  • Unregistered customer, will need to withdraw the full amount received.

Note: An unregistered E-Moni number can only receive money up to $500.

Registered Customers

  • Visit your nearest Vodafone E-Moni Outlet 

  • Ensure you have enough E-Moni 

  • Provide a valid ID

  • Enter the amount you would like to withdraw

  • Enter your 4 digit pin

  • Receive Cash

  • Any amount not withdrawn will remain as E-Moni value in your E-Moni account. 

Note: A registered customer can hold up to $10,000 in their E-Moni account.

How to Pay Your Postpay bill

  • To make payment on your Vodafone Postpay account, select Postpay in the E-Moni app

  • Enter the $ amount you would like pay on your account

  • Enter your Vodafone customer number 

  • Enter your 4 digit pin to confirm payment

  • You will receive a notification to confirm your transaction. 

Note: Customer number is referred to your 6 digit number on your phone bill statement.

1. What is E-Moni?

The E-Moni mobile app provides a safe, secure and affordable way to send and receive money, recharge any registered E-Moni prepay numbers and make payments on your Vodafone postpay billing accounts. E-Moni provides an instant, secure, affordable and convenient means to sending & receiving money to any mobile phone and is available to every registered and unregistered subscriber on the Vodafone network, whether on Prepay or Postpay. 2.How do I get started or how do I activate the E-Moni service?


You can register and open your E-Moni account with a balance of NZD $0.00. If your number is yet to be registered for E-Moni, you can follow the steps below to activate your account.

Visit any of our Vodafone Retail outlets with your mobile phone to register as an E-Moni customer. You will need to present ONE valid photo Identification card such as the ones listed below:

  • Passport and/or;
  • Driver’s License
  • Birth Certificate




3. What can I do with the E-Moni service?


  • Send money to any mobile phone user; registered or not registered for E-Moni
  • Send money to any mobile phone user on the Vodafone network throughout the Cook Islands
  • Receive money from any mobile phone user; registered or not registered for E-Moni
  • Make Bill payments to your Vodafone accounts
  • Withdraw cash at any Vodafone outlets
  • Buy recharge for your own or another registered prepaid mobile number
  • View Transaction History instantly on your E-Moni App via Transaction Log




4. Do I need to have a minimum amount in my account?


You can have a minimum of $ 0.00 and a maximum of up to $10,000 at any time for registered E-Moni customers only.




5. Do I need to pay any service charges for having an E-Moni account?


E-Moni registration is free of charge; there are no account maintenance fees and there is no minimum balance requirement. You only pay for the transactions you carry out
[i.e. send money, withdraw cash].




6. Can I use my recharge/airtime balance to top up my E-Moni account?


Your E-Moni account is completely separate from your Vodafone prepay recharge account. Consequently, you cannot use your recharge to top up your E-Moni account. However, you can use your balance in your E-Moni account to buy recharge for your own phone or another Vodafone prepay number.




7. What is the difference between a registered E-Moni customer and an unregistered customer?


A registered E-Moni customer can access the full E-Moni menu and is able to carry out all the services [deposit money, send money, buy recharge, check balance].

An unregistered customer can only receive money up to the value of $500.




8. How can I make a deposit into my E-Moni account?


You will need to visit any Vodafone Retail outlet nationwide and deposit your cash to add value to your E-Moni account. There is no fee or charge for depositing money into your E-Moni account.




9. What do I do in case I send money to a wrong number?


Call us on 123 to ask for assistance. Customers are given an option to view and confirm the transaction details before they press “send” to complete the transaction. Therefore, it is always in your interest to carefully review and confirm the details before you press ok because once executed the transaction may not be reversible.




10. Is it possible to recharge/top-up unregistered user’s mobile number?


You can buy recharge for any Vodafone prepay number using your E-Moni account whether they are registered or not for E-Moni service. There are no charges for using your E-Moni account balance to buy recharge.




11. Where can I buy E-Moni value?


From any Vodafone Retail Outlet and E-Moni agent (soon to come) outlets nationwide.




12. Can I recharge if I am a Postpay customer?


Vodafone post pay customers registered on E-Moni can buy recharge for other Vodafone prepay numbers but not their own or other postpay number.




13. What happens if I do not get an SMS from E-Moni confirming the transaction?


In case there is a delay in receiving SMS from E-Moni system to confirm any transaction you have carried out, contact Vodafone Customer Care ‘helpline’. However, there may be other reasons that may lead to you not receiving the SMS:

Your SMS inbox may be full so you may have to delete some of the messages and create space for the new ones. If there is a problem with the SMS service, then you may not receive the txt

A SMS message with a receipt number delivered to your mobile is a confirmation of a successful transaction. If you do not receive a confirmation, SMS for an E-Moni transaction, the transaction will be reversed and account restored within 10 minutes. You must ensure that for any E-Moni deposit or withdrawal transactions, you must always receive a SMS confirmation.
